CONVENTION CENTER
The location of this year's International Alchemy
Conference is the modern and spacious Los Angeles
Convention Center.
The Convention Center, located in
downtown Los Angeles, is available by Metro, rail
and bus service. The center is quickly available
from several interstate highways, and is
approximately 20 minutes away from Los Angeles
International Airport. The on-site parking area,
which includes electrical charging stations, has
space for 5,600 vehicles. The convention center is
surrounded by several additional public lots.
Numerous hotels and shopping districts are located
nearby, as are a wide variety of entertainment
venues such as the adjacent Staples Center and the
Museum of Contemporary Art.
The Los Angeles Convention Center features 720,000
square feet of exhibit hall space, 64 meeting rooms,
and a large presentation theater. All of these facilites have advanced fiber optics, power and
data/network systems. The Center contains a
full-service Business Center and offers full service
catering. Dining options at the facility include
numerous concession stands, a cafe, 2 food courts
and 2 Starbucks coffee stands. Also, on-site is a
Gordon Biersch Brewery featuring micro-brewed beers
and a full bar.
Opened in 1971 with 210,685 square feet of exhibit
space, 21 meeting rooms and 9,230 square feet of
pre-function/registration space. Major Expansion was
completed in 1993, adding 347,000 square feet of
exhibit space, 43 meeting rooms and a 299-seat
theater. Kentia Hall with 162,000 square feet of
exhibit space was added in 1997.

Design Features
The Convention Center comprises a 347,000 square
foot South Exhibit Hall, connected to 210,000 square
feet West exhibit Hall by a two-story meeting room
concourse bridging over Pico Boulevard. Kentia Hall
located beneath the South Exhibit Hall can be
converted into a parking area for 415 vehicles.
